Level up

The bar in the skills menu displaying your level and experience until next level

When you get cheese or save mice, you gain experience.
Experience allows you to evolve your shaman<ref>http://www.transformice.com/version-1-82/index.php</ref> and to gain more skills in five different skill trees, effectively making your shaman more powerful. Note that experience was not added retroactively, so any cheese earned / mice saved before the skills update does not count.

Gaining Experience as a regular Mouse

As a mouse, you get 10 experience points by getting cheese and bringing it back to the mouse hole.

Note: The numbers that show up whenever you die or get to the hole (+1 / +10 / +12 / +14 / +16) are not the gained EXP points but the score points for the Leaderboard.

Gaining Experience as a Shaman

Experience for being a shaman is awarded at the end of the map and will depend on your level and shaman mode.

Note: Using the Free Victory skill in Dual Shaman maps won't count as saves, therefore won't give you any experience.

Milestones

• Level 19 - Minimum level for Hard Mode; 1000 saves will gain you 3000 points of experience.
• Level 20 - Wildling and Physicist skill trees unlocked.
• Level 27 - Minimum level to unlock a skill from the top of a Skill Tree.
• Level 35 - Minimum level to unlock Divine Mode; 5000 regular saves and 2000 Hard Mode saves equal 24940 experience points.
• Level 53 - Minimum level to have 2 skills from the top of a Skill Tree.
• Level 79 - Minimum level to have 3 skills from the top of a Skill Tree.
• Level 105 - Minimum Level to have 4 skills from the top of a Skill Tree.
• Level 135 - Minimum level to have all 5 top skills in the Skill Tree.
• Level 273 - Minimum level to have all skills.
